National Historical Commission - Barasoain
The Church of Barasoain was declared a national landmark on August 1, 1973, when
President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed Presidential Decree No. 260. It provides that its
"preservation, restoration and/or reconstruction shall be under the supervision and
control of the National Historical Commission (Institute) in collaboration with the
Department of Tourism.”
At present, the church, in partnership with the government, has been maintaining the
heritage and historical value of Barasoain Church.
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines has a branch office in the
premises of the parish to guide tourists in their trips in the parish, as well as to maintain
the historical heritage of the church.
